49ers rookie Drake Jackson ready to 'get the answers to the test' from Nick Bosa

By David Bonilla
May 14

Drake Jackson knows he's going into a great situation. Two weeks ago, the 21-year-old rookie defensive end was the first selection by the San Francisco 49ers, added during the second round. Eventually, the 49ers expect him to fill the role once envisioned for Dee Ford—a strong pass rusher opposite phenom Nick Bosa. Jackson could develop into that complementary piece for the 49ers defense. Luckily, he has a great role model in Bosa. "Watching him, the whole D-line, watching them hunt, I cannot wait to go get out there with those guys and just turn up with them," Jackson told reporters on Friday. After Jackson was drafted, Bosa was among several

John Lynch explains the 49ers re-signing Jason Verrett

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed oft-injured cornerback Jason Verrett to a one-year deal on Monday. For the team, it was worth the risk. When Verrett, who entered 2021 as the 49ers' starting cornerback, is healthy, he plays like one of the top corners in the league. The problem is his healthy seasons seem few and far between. Verrett has been in the NFL for eight seasons and has landed on injured reserve during six of those. Verrett's two healthy seasons, though, were impressive. In 2015, he recorded 47 tackles, three interceptions, a touchdown, and 12 passes defensed, earning a career-high Pro Football Focus grade of 88.4 and Pro Bowl selection. Verrett signed with the 49ers in 2019 and again struggled with injuries in that first season with the team. But a

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch stated that the rookie minicamp would kick off on May 12. However, that appears to be when first-year players can report to the team. The NFL announced today that the 49ers' rookie minicamp would take place May 13-15, two weeks after the draft. It will be the first opportunity for 49ers coaches to see its latest draft class, which includes nine players, on the practice field. In addition, several undrafted free agents will join them, along with some players looking to try out for the team. The 49ers drafted the following players in the 2022 NFL Draft. Round 2: Drake Jackson, DE, USC Round 3: Ty Davis-Price, RB, LSU Round 3: Danny Gray, WR. SMU Round 4: Spencer Burford,

49ers rank No. 5 in Dan Hanzus' post-draft power rankings

By Romelo Bracy

Around the NFL writer Dan Hanzus provided his updated power rankings after the 2022 NFL Draft. The San Francisco 49ers remained at the No.5 spot, with no movement post draft. Hanzus offered no comments on the 49ers draft selections but he did comment on the availability of All-Pro Deebo Samuel. Hanzus writes: "Meanwhile, the Niners don't seem at all eager to move superstar wide receiver Deebo Samuel, trade demand be damned. Kyle Shanahan said on Friday the 49ers have yet to receive an offer that was
