In case you are getting too frustrated watching the free agency news wire, you will likely have some more Niner related news by the end of the day.

The San Francisco 49ers will have their first team practice today at 2:30 PM and it will last until 5:30 PM according to Grant Cohn (@grantcohn) of the Press Democrat.

Starting this year, beat writers will no longer be allowed to tweet live updates from the sidelines during camp, so don't expect any real practice news and updates until after 5:30 PM.

The quarterbacks for training camp today will be second round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Colin Kaepernick, and free agent aquisition McLeod Bethel-Thompson of Sac State.

Matt Barrows (@mattbarrows) reports that the 49ers have 76 players on their roster right now, including three on the PUP. This number does not include free agents like Alex Smith who will sign today.

Also of note, running back Jeremiah Masoli will wear No. 29 while Bethel-Thompson is sporting No. 1.

Like many NFL players, rookie wide receiver Danny Gray strives for perfection. Unfortunately, no one can be perfect. For a quarterback, it's easy to dwell on that off-target throw. Maybe it's that football that slipped out of your grip for a running back. For a cornerback, that near-interception that bounced off your eager hands. For a wide receiver, it's that big-play throw that you couldn't haul in. That's what happened to Gray on Friday afternoon during the San Francisco 49ers' first practice of a three-day rookie minicamp. While others might try to push the slip-up out of their minds and focus on the next rep. Not Gray. The San Francisco 49ers re-signed oft-injured cornerback Jason Verrett to a one-year deal on Monday. For the team, it was worth the risk. When Verrett, who entered 2021 as the 49ers' starting cornerback, is healthy, he plays like one of the top corners in the league. The problem is his healthy seasons seem few and far between. Verrett has been in the NFL for eight seasons and has landed on injured reserve during six of those. Verrett's two healthy seasons, though, were impressive. In 2015, he recorded 47 tackles, three interceptions, a touchdown, and 12 passes defensed, earning a career-high Pro Football Focus grade of 88.4 and Pro Bowl selection. Verrett signed with the 49ers in 2019 and again struggled with injuries in that first season with the team. But a

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch stated that the rookie minicamp would kick off on May 12. However, that appears to be when first-year players can report to the team. The NFL announced today that the 49ers' rookie minicamp would take place May 13-15, two weeks after the draft. It will be the first opportunity for 49ers coaches to see its latest draft class, which includes nine players, on the practice field. In addition, several undrafted free agents will join them, along with some players looking to try out for the team. The 49ers drafted the following players in the 2022 NFL Draft.
