Simms predicts 49ers to earn the No. 1 seed but lose to Seahawks in the playoffs

Chris Simms has at least some faith in the San Francisco 49ers. The NBC Sports analyst predicts his buddy Kyle Shanahan's squad not only to win the NFC West but earn the top seed in the NFC playoffs. In fact, he has three teams from the division — the Niners, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams — all making it into the postseason. ESPN ran its annual simulation of the entire season based on its own Football Power Index (FPI). How did the San Francisco 49ers fare? The good news is that they won the NFC West and earned the even-more-valuable-this-season No. 1 seed in the playoffs, holding off the Los Angeles Rams after both teams finished the season with matching 11-5 records.
