According to numerous sources, the San Francisco 49ers have signed all of their 2011 Draft selections. All ten of the selections were ready to go when the team opened camp today at 8 AM.

This is great news, especially at quarterback. Colin Kaepernick is the only quarterback currently under contract since Alex Smith cannot sign his contract until tomorrow at 3 PM, David Carr has been informed that he will be released, and Jeremiah Masoli has been listed as a running back by the team.

The San Francisco 49ers still have three unsigned draft picks. Among them is the No. 3 overall pick — quarterback Trey Lance. The others are third-round picks Trey Sermon and Ambry Thomas. With players scheduled to report to training camp in a couple of weeks, should fans be concerned that the 49ers' quarterback of the future remains unsigned? Probably not. Lance's contract terms have been predetermined thanks to the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement. All rookie contracts are for a length of four years, and Lance's will be worth $34.1 million with a signing bonus of $22.2 million and a 2021 salary-cap hit of $6.2 million. The NFL reportedly informed teams that it would not extend the 18-week season to accommodate a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players. Last year, there were multiple postponements as the league navigated through the bizarre season amid a pandemic. There will be no rescheduling of games in 2021. The league hopes players will take it upon themselves to get vaccinated and protect themselves and their families as training camps get set to kick off. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement with cornerback Ambry Thomas on his four-year rookie deal.
