After yet another poor performance and chants of "We want Carr" from the Candlestick Park crowd, it looked as though San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary had made the call to pull quarterback Alex Smith.
However, Smith returned during the team's next drive with the 49ers down 24-10 in the 4th quarter.
The result was a touchdown drive. The 49ers are now down 24-17.
