49ers cut 22 to get to their 53-man roster

Even though the deadline is not until 6 p.m. on Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers got to work early on their roster cuts. The team cut 22 players today, bringing their roster count down to the mandatory 53.

Quarterback Nate Davis was not among those cuts after there were a few whispers that the team might let him go.

Below is a list of all the players cut today (listed alphabetically).

49ers had to alter travel plans on their way to play Jets due to damage to their own jet

The San Francisco 49ers typically fly out of San Jose International Airport for road games and were set to do so for this two-game stint on the East Coast. Their plans changed, however, when the plane was found to be damaged, forcing the entire team to travel north and leave out of San Francisco International Airport, according to an on-air report by FOX. The 49ers plan to stay on the East Coast between their two games at MetLife Stadium. The team has a comfortable lead late in the fourth quarter against the New York Jets and will return to play the New York Giants in one week.
