With the 2024 NFL Draft just eight days away, the San Francisco 49ers are in the final stages of evaluating draft prospects. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the 49ers are currently hosting USC safety Calen Bullock on a pre-draft visit.

Bullock registered 63 tackles, seven passes defensed, two interceptions, and a touchdown through 12 game appearances as a senior in 2023, per Sports Reference. Over his collegiate career spanning three seasons, he amassed 151 tackles, 15 passes defensed, nine interceptions, and two touchdowns.

Bullock started 26 games for the Trojans over the past two seasons. His 82.5 overall Pro Football Focus grade in 2022 was a career high. However, that mark dropped to 71.5 in 2023 while playing 845 defensive snaps. Bullock currently ranks 81st on Pro Football Focus' big board.

"Long and athletic with a series of feast-or-famine plays all over the tape," Lance Zierlein wrote in his NFL.com scouting report. "Bullock can be scary good in coverage and scary bad as a run defender. He has the range to play single-high safety, the athleticism to line up over the slot and the ball skills to chalk up impressive on-ball production.

"As a run defender, Bullock's poor recognition, missed run fits and bad angles to the football cost his team chunk plays and touchdowns. He won't always see or process the game clearly, but the athleticism and playmaking talent are hard to overlook. He's young and talented, and if he runs well enough, there might be a team more interested in his skill set as a cornerback than as a boom/bust safety."

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Bullock recorded a 40-yard dash time of 4.48 seconds.

The 2024 NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, from Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27.

49ers unfazed by Brandon Aiyuk's absence; Brock Purdy opens up about draft day jitters

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers kicked off organized team activities (OTAs) this week, and star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was the most noticeable absentee. However, his absence wasn't unexpected. Aiyuk and the 49ers reportedly remain far apart in their contract extension negotiations, and this portion of the offseason remains voluntary. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked how he feels about Aiyuk not being around for OTAs. "The same as I do about all these guys that aren't here," Shanahan responded. "I mean, I wish they were here, but it's something that's part of the business. Anytime it's part the business part, you try to respect it, stay out of it as much as possible, and look

Can Isaac Guerendo end this 49ers draft trend at running back?

ESPN's Bill Barnwell has expressed concerns about the San Francisco 49ers' draft history under head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch. While the duo has brought in key contributors like Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Fred Warner, and Nick Bosa, they have also had their share of draft misses, which is cause for concern. These missteps haven't cost the 49ers too much, though. The team has still participated regularly in NFC Championship Games and is coming off a Super Bowl appearance, the second of Shanahan and Lynch's tenure. Still, the team has yet to get over the hump and bring home that elusive sixth championship for the franchise. Some critical draft misses may have contributed to the team failing to reach its aspirations, the

49ers' Top 5 Non-Divisional Games for 2024

By Marc Adams
May 15

The NFL schedule has been released and the San Francisco 49ers now know when and where they will play each regular season game. The divisional games are always important. You want to win your division above all else. But the 49ers also have some important non-divisional games. Some of these games very well could play a part in NFC postseason seedings. Because of this, I've chosen three NFC games as the top non-divisional games for the 49ers. These are the five most important non-divisional games for the 49ers—the games that could play the biggest role in whether or not San Francisco wins a Super Bowl.
