The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 15 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Practice Notes

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw returned to the practice field after missing Wednesday and Thursday's sessions. That's good news for the 49ers, who look to extend their winning streak to six games.

Guard Spencer Burford practiced for the second consecutive day, a positive sign heading into this weekend. Guard Aaron Banks returned to practice after missing Thursday's session with a hip injury.

Cornerback Charvarius Ward, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, and tight end Ross Dwelley were seen working on the side as their teammates went through practice. Defensive tackle Arik Armstead, linebacker Oren Burks, and running back Elijah Mitchell were nowhere to be seen during the portion of practice open to the media.

The 49ers ruled out Armstead, Hargrave, Burks, Mitchell, and Dwelley for Sunday's game. Greenlaw, Ward, Burford, and Banks are listed as "questionable." On Saturday, we'll likely see a running back and defensive lineman elevated from the practice squad.

The news of Arik Armstead's departure from the San Francisco 49ers after nine seasons with the team shocked linebacker Fred Warner. Armstead, a former first-round pick, was an impactful force on the football field. However, his availability over the last two seasons forced the 49ers to reevaluate his contract, and when his salary could not be significantly reduced, the two sides parted ways. "Huge surprise," Warner said of learning that Armstead was being released. "Ever since I've been here, we called him the blueprint for how to be a Niner. That was the longest-tenured Niner that's been here and a guy that's done it right through and through." Warner has been in the NFL long enough to understand how the league works. Over the years, he's watched several

Numerous NFL teams reportedly reached out to the San Francisco 49ers before and during the draft to inquire about the team's star wide receivers, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports that the New England Patriots were among the teams that had "preliminary trade discussions" about Samuel. "In general, when teams explore potential transactions with other clubs, finding middle ground on compensation can be challenging," wrote Anderson. "There are always many considerable factors on why the price should possibly be one thing, or another." I'm told the

Brandon Aiyuk isn't the only San Francisco 49ers player being mentioned in trade chatter around the NFL. According to Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle, several teams are also reaching out to inquire about the availability of wide receiver Deebo Samuel. "In the course of trade conversations about Brandon Aiyuk, numerous teams are inquiring about fellow 49ers WR Deebo Samuel's availability," Silver reports. "The 49ers would likely have to be blown away by the offer to make that move. Fluid situation, though." In the course of trade conversations about Brandon Aiyuk, numerous teams are inquiring about fellow

Bleacher Report proposes absurd 49ers-Jets trade involving Brandon Aiyuk

Speculation surrounding Brandon Aiyuk will likely continue until the end of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, which kicks off tonight. All eyes are on what the San Francisco 49ers will do at No. 31 overall and what moves they might make before then. While general manager John Lynch assured the media this week that retaining Aiyuk is the priority, the receiver eagerly awaits the 49ers to back up their words with action, making him one of the NFL's highest-paid receivers. One Bleacher Report writer, Ryan Fowler, proposes a trade likely to draw criticism from 49ers fans. In his analysis of one draft-day trade "that makes sense"
