Sims registered 31 receptions for 255 yards and three touchdowns through 12 game appearances as a senior in 2022, per Sports Reference. He caught 78 passes for 785 yards with 12 touchdowns through his four collegiate seasons.
"Tight end with average size and talent as a run blocker but the tools to get a little better in that area," wrote Lance Zierlein of NFL.com in the player's draft profile. "Baylor frequently used Sims as a wingback who was asked to base block, lead block and get into space on outside zone. As a pass-catcher, he lacks separation talent and is going to get what is given to him by the defense. Sims' average traits mean he will likely need to be in a favorable situation to make a roster."
Sims is from San Antonio, TX. He earned a pre-draft grade of 5.68 from NFL.com, which equates to a "chance to make a roster or practice squad," per the site's 8-point grading scale.
The 6'5" and 250-pound Sims had a 40-time of 4.59 seconds, a vertical jump of 36 inches, a broad jump of 122 inches, 15 reps in the bench press, a 7.46-second three-cone drill time, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.41 seconds at his personal Pro Day, per NFLDraftBuzz.
