According to Washington Post reporter Nicki Jhabvala, the Washington Commanders have requested permission to speak with San Francisco 49ers assistant head coach and running backs coach Anthony Lynn about the offensive coordinator vacancy.

Lynn joined head coach Kyle Shanahan's staff last year. Before that, he served as the offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions. Lynn was the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers for four season (2017-20), and has served various roles with the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Denver Broncos.

Recently, Lynn admitted that he was impressed with the culture the 49ers have built in Santa Clara.

"This organization will do whatever it takes to win," Lynn told the Los Angeles Times. "Resources out the [ears]. That was different for me compared to what I was going through in L.A. So it's just like, man, this is what it's supposed to be like. I forgot how that felt."

The 49ers are preparing to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

The San Francisco 49ers have lost three games in a row, and are preparing to host the Chicago Bears on Sunday. A fourth-straight loss, especially if it's to the struggling Bears, will not only eliminate the 49ers from any small hope they have at the postseason, but the fanbase...

What a pathetic performance by the San Francisco 49ers. The offense was horrid and the defense, even though they played well for three quarters, couldn't hold off the Los Angeles Rams in the final quarter, as the 49ers lost 12-6. The loss didn't mathematically eliminate the...
