The San Francisco 49ers are hoping for some good luck on Monday when two injured players will undergo further tests. Second-year guard Aaron Banks left Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, a 37-34 overtime win, in the second quarter with a right knee injury. He did not return and was replaced by Daniel Brunskill.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw left the game in the third quarter. It initially looked like a leg injury due to a collision with teammate Fred Warner on a tackle. However, the 49ers reported that Greenlaw left the game with a back injury. Azeez Al-Shaair replaced him.
"Aaron Banks had a knee and ankle [injuries]," head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after the game. "We'll get an MRI and stuff to see how it's going. Most likely sprained MCL, so we'll have to see. Dre Greenlaw had a back [injury], did not return. We'll see with that tomorrow too."
The 49ers currently own the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture but still have something to play for in their remaining regular-season game—a Week 18 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium. If the Philadelphia Eagles lose their third consecutive game, San Francisco will have a chance to steal the No. 1 seed, earning home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
