The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 8 contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Not much has changed throughout the week regarding the practice participation reports. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel missed his third consecutive practice. As did wide receiver Jauan Jennings, defensive lineman Arik Armstead, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk.

The team ruled out Samuel, Armstead, and Greenlaw for Sunday. Jennings and cornerback Jason Verrett are listed as "questionable."

"It's not a precaution," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday in response to a question about Samuel's hamstring injury. "I mean, he's not good enough to go. The fact that he even had a chance means, hopefully, he'll be good with the week off and ready for the next game."

The 49ers had already ruled out Juszczyk for this weekend's game. On Monday, the fullback underwent surgery to repair the broken finger suffered this past Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. He is expected to return after the bye week.

Matt Barrows of The Athletic shared an update on three players dealing with MCL injuries.

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Rams, provided by the 49ers Communications staff. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports.

49ers LB Dre Greenlaw to receive Dwight Clark Legacy Award

By David Bonilla
Apr 18

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that Dre Greenlaw will receive the Dwight Clark Award this year. The San Francisco 49ers linebacker will take the stage on Thursday, May 16, at the fourth annual Dwight Clark Legacy Series in San Jose to accept the prestigious award. Each year, a current 49ers player is honored with the Dwight Clark Legacy Award, presented to a player who best exemplifies the late receiver's spirit of teamwork. Linebacker Fred Warner was the recipient last year. Defensive lineman Arik Armstead, now with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was the recipient in 2022, while tight end George Kittle earned the first-ever award in 2021. "Dre is more than deserving of the 2024 Dwight Clark Award," Warner said of his teammate, per Maiocco. "The

49ers' Fred Warner addresses Armstead's departure, Greenlaw's recovery, Super Bowl window

The news of Arik Armstead's departure from the San Francisco 49ers after nine seasons with the team shocked linebacker Fred Warner. Armstead, a former first-round pick, was an impactful force on the football field. However, his availability over the last two seasons forced the 49ers to reevaluate his contract, and when his salary could not be significantly reduced, the two sides parted ways. "Huge surprise," Warner said of learning that Armstead was being released. "Ever since I've been here, we called him the blueprint for how to be a Niner. That was the longest-tenured Niner that's been here and a guy that's done it right through and through." Warner has been in the NFL long enough to understand how the league works. Over the years, he's watched several

Mike Silver on how Deebo Samuel's contract might be the starting point for a Brandon Aiyuk extension

By Al Sacco
Apr 16

With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, it's common for the rumor mill to start churning, especially with players who are actively seeking a new contract. It was just two short years ago that WR Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers prior to draft day, only for cooler heads to prevail and eventually agree to a new deal. Now, it's WR Brandon Aiyuk's turn to try and get paid and rumors surfaced over the weekend that he too would request to be dealt. While that report was quickly shot down by his agent, there's still a lot of discussion about Aiyuk's future and if other teams will come calling on draft night. Legendary columnist Mike Silver joined

Breaking down the 49ers drafts under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan

By Marc Adams
Apr 20

We are less than one week away from the NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have their first day-one draft pick since 2021. That was the year they selected QB Trey Lance number three overall. The trade-up to get Lance cost the 49ers their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023. And now that they are back in the first round, at pick 31, fans are anxious to see what the team does with the pick. And with former assistant GM, Adam Peters, now in Washington, it will be interesting to see how well the 49ers draft without Peters in the room. We looked back at the seven drafts GM John Lynch and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan have led to see what information we could pull from those drafts. There were plenty of hits, plenty of misses, and a few surprises along the way. The draft picks are
