The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.
The most significant 49ers-related news of the day is that All-Pro tight end George Kittle is dealing with a groin injury. He did not practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if he knew how serious the injury is.
"I'm not sure," Shanahan responded. "I was hoping it would be good today. He did a little on Monday and not feeling good today, so we'll have to see day by day."
Obviously, if the injury is on the more serious side, it could mean one missing weapon for second-year quarterback Trey Lance.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Bears, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
