The Buffalo Bills signed Hance (6-6, 310) as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern in 2019. He also spent time with the Washington Commanders (2019), Jacksonville Jaguars (2019-20), New York Jets (2020), and Cleveland Browns (2020-21). Hance appeared in all 17 games with eight starts for the Browns last season.

The Detroit Lions signed quarterback Nate Sudfeld, the Jacksonville Jaguars added running back JaMycal Hasty, and the Washington Commanders claimed the 49ers' sixth-round pick, cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields.
