Wide receiver Deebo Samuel—still a member of the San Francisco 49ers—is in attendance in Las Vegas for day two of the 2022 NFL Draft. Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal got a few pictures of the star wideout.

Yes, Samuel is wearing a red baseball hat. The 49ers hope to keep him in red for a long time. Samuel had requested a trade, and the Niners had multiple offers but opted not to ship their do-it-all playmaker out of the Bay Area.

The 49ers remain hopeful that they can sign Samuel to a contract extension. Samuel amassed 1,770 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns for the team in 2021. San Francisco made him a second-round draft pick in 2019, and the receiver is preparing to enter his fourth NFL season.

With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, it's common for the rumor mill to start churning, especially with players who are actively seeking a new contract. While that report was quickly shot down by his agent, there's still a lot of discussion about Aiyuk's future and if other teams will come calling on draft night. Despite initial reports, two draft prospects who were set to visit the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft ultimately did not meet with the team. Matt Barrows of The Athletic revealed that former USC wide receiver Brenden Rice and former Oregon safety Jamal Hill didn't end up visiting the Bay Area organization. Barrows wrote, "Meanwhile, a report in March indicated that USC receiver Brenden Rice, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, would visit the 49ers, but he didn't end up coming, according to two league sources."
