The San Francisco 49ers could have their linebacker core back together for Sunday's road playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. That means having Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, and potentially Azeez Al-Shaair on the field together for the 49ers defense.
That has general manager John Lynch excited. After all, the team appears to be getting healthy at precisely the right time.
Greenlaw has been struggling with hip and core muscle injuries all season. Lynch was thrilled with what he saw from his 24-year-old linebacker against the Los Angeles Rams.
"It was so fun watching him play," general manager John Lynch said Thursday on KNBR's Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks show. "Man, he was playing fast. The tape showed it, but in person, it was unbelievable just to see the speed and quickness. ... He was huge in that game."
Al-Shaair was inactive the last two games due to a knee injury. He was limited during Thursday's practice, and Lynch hopes to see Al-Shaair on the field this weekend.
"The nice thing now is it looks as though Azeez is going to be ready to roll," Lynch shared. "So, to have both of those guys [will be] awesome."
