The San Francisco 49ers return home after back-to-back road wins to start the 2021 regular season. They will face the Green Bay Packers at Levi's Stadium on Sunday night. This marks the fourth consecutive regular season that the two teams will meet, with each matchup taking place in primetime. San Francisco is 20-13-1 all-time at home against Green Bay.
After spending the week between Week 1 and 2 in West Virginia, the Niners beat the Philadelphia Eagles 17-11 to cap off the road trip. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 22 of his 30 passing attempts for 189 yards and a touchdown for a passer rating of 100.6. He also recorded a rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings finished the game with two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown. That 11-yard score came on his first career catch.
On defense, defensive end Nick Bosa registered two sacks and a forced fumble against Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Bosa now has three sacks on the season, 12 sacks in his regular-season career, and three career forced fumbles.
San Francisco's special teams were led by defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who blocked Eagles kicker Jake Elliott's 47-yard field goal attempt. Punter Mitch Wishnowsky saw three of his five punts on the day downed inside the 20-yard line, including two downed inside the 10, earning him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
