According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement with cornerback Ambry Thomas on his four-year rookie deal. The 49ers selected him out of Michigan in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the No. 102 overall pick.
49ers reached agreement with 3rd-round pick cornerback and Michigan man Ambry Thomas, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus.
The signing leaves quarterback Trey Lance, the No. 3 overall pick, as the 49ers only unsigned draft pick.
Thomas registered 38 tackles, three tackles for a loss, three passes defensed, and three interceptions through 12 games as a junior in 2019, per Sports Reference. He has recorded 54 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, three passes defensed, four interceptions, and a forced fumble through his three collegiate seasons. The defender did not play in 2020.
Thanks to the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which runs through the 2030 season, all rookie contracts are for a length of four years.
The total value of Thomas' four-year contract is set to be $4,785,850, per OverTheCap.com. That includes a signing bonus of $840,616 and a 2021 salary-cap figure of $870,154.
