What if the 49ers don't extend Deebo Samuel this offseason?

By Rohan Chakravarthi
Jan 12

Earlier this week, I suggested that the 49ers should extend Deebo Samuel this offseason, citing his value to this offense as a versatile weapon, the challenge presented from other talented third-year receivers, and how it would best position San Francisco for their future. However, there most certainly is the possibility that Samuel enters next season playing on the last year of his rookie contract. While it may not be the scenario that 49ers fans want to hear, and, in my opinion, the less likely option, let's breakdown the scenarios that could occur should San Francisco elect to bypass an extension for their star receiver this

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Divisional playoff contest against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Defensive end Nick Bosa remains in the concussion protocol, and being cleared will be a challenge due to the short week of preparation. The good news is that he returned to practice on Wednesday. Although, he was listed as a "limited" participant. Bosa was on the field with his teammates for the pre-practice walkthrough but headed to the locker room before practice started. Excellent sign as

Packers praise 49ers WR Deebo Samuel: 'One of the more elite players in this league'

By Kirk Larrabee

There's something significantly different about San Francisco 49ers on offense this week compared to where they were when they played the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 of the regular season. That difference is the role of wide receiver Deebo Samuel, whose emergence as a running back throughout the course of the season makes the 49ers more difficult to stop than they were when they fell 30-28 to the Packers at Levi's Stadium on September 26. Samuel had two carries for zero yards in that game, giving him a total of four carries for eight yards over his first three games. He had six total carries over his first nine games before exploding over the second half of the season to finish with 59 carries for 365 yards and eight touchdowns to go with his receiving stats of

49ers Notebook: Deebo Samuel talks Packers, asking Kyle Shanahan for the ball, newfound fame

By David Bonilla

Deebo Samuel sat down to talk with reporters via Zoom after Thursday's practice. The San Francisco 49ers' dynamic receiver has become a household name and a nightmare for opposing defenses. Samuel responded to several questions during the media session. Below are some of the more noteworthy. Has the newfound fame affected the 49ers wide back? "It don't affect me at all," Samuel said. "I just worry about this team, winning, and all the guys that's around. I don't pay attention to all the outside noise that's kind of thrown at your face. But it's not hard to block it out and just focus on the things that
