By David Bonilla

The New York Jets will likely be looking to upgrade the quarterback position by bringing in a veteran after seemingly misfiring with Zach Wilson. Internally, one of the options being thrown around is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Of course, he isn't the only option in what should be an intriguing offseason of potential quarterback moves. "According to sources, the Jets will be looking closely at [Aaron] Rodgers, Jimmy Garoppoloand Derek Carr," wrote Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. "They won't limit their search to just those three quarterbacks -- and sources stress it's still early in the process --

Robbie Gould plans to keep on kicking into the 2023 NFL season. Whether that will be with the San Francisco 49ers remains to be seen. The 40-year-old kicker is one of several 49ers players scheduled to become a free agent in March. He has no plans to call it a career. "I'm nowhere near retiring," Gould told Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area on Tuesday. "I got a lot left to do from a career perspective—No. 1 being winning a Super Bowl. 49ers mailbag: Will 49ers sign a big-name QB? Who will Ryans take to Houston? Who will replace Ryans? Will Garoppolo return?

By Marc Adams

There's not much going on with the San Francisco 49ers. Not unless you count these small bits of news: Brock Purdy has a UCL tear and will likely need surgery. If they can repair the tendon, he'll need six months of recovery time (which is August). If they have to replace it (Tommy John surgery), it will be decidedly longer. Trey Lance says he is three to four weeks from being cleared to practice, and that he should be 100% by OTAs (organized team activities). Trent Williams was walking with a crutch on Tuesday (locker cleanout day) and had a walking boot on. But he said it's nothing. DeMeco Ryans was hired to be the next head coach of the Houston Texans. Tom Brady announced his retirement Wednesday morning, so those hoping he
