49ers waive rookie Jauan Jennings, announce other moves in roster cut-down

Most of the San Francisco 49ers' most recent draft class made it through the 53-player roster cut-down. The lone casualty was the team's seventh-round selection out of Tennessee — wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Although, the rookie could land on the practice squad, should he clear waivers.

Below is a list of the team's roster moves as it worked to reach the 53-player limit.

The 49ers also announced that they have waived/injured OL Ross Reynolds, activated WR Deebo Samuel from the Active/Non-Football Injury List, and placed DL Ronald Blair, C Weston Richburg, and DL Jullian Taylor on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List.

OL Daniel Brunskill signs one-year tender, 49ers waive TE Chase Harrell

The San Francisco 49ers announced that exclusive-rights free agent Daniel Brunskill, an offensive lineman, has signed his one-year tender. The Niners tendered the one-year contract to Brunskill on March 12. The Atlanta Falcons signed Brunskill as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State in 2017. He played for the San Diego Fleet of the now-defunct AAF league before signing with the 49ers on April 11, 2019. Brunskill, 27, has 30 game appearances and 23 starts through his two seasons in San Francisco. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is set to earn about $25 million this year. Whomever they pick at No. 3 overall will have a cap hit of about $6.2 million in 2021, per OverTheCap.com. If the gap between the two players isn't seen as great—and a lot of that may depend on actually getting the rookie into the building and seeing how fast he can progress—that could accelerate the plan to part ways with Garoppolo. Maybe something happens before the draft. Maybe it happens during, after, or even next year. Fred Warner, Jason Verrett, three other 49ers receive performance-based bonuses

Five San Francisco 49ers players earned performance-based bonuses, per a report from NBC Sports Bay Area. They include linebackers Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw, and defensive backs Jason Verrett and Tarvarius Moore. One offensive lineman, Daniel Brunskill, also earned the additional pay.
