49ers work out four defensive linemen

The 49ers reportedly worked out the following four defensive linemen, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle:

  • Kendall Coleman
  • David Kenney
  • DaVonte Lambert
  • Cameron Malveaux

Analyst predicts 10-win season

Actually, that's not accurate. NFL Media's Cynthia Frelund predicts 10.1 wins for the 49ers in 2020. I just don't know how you earn 0.1 of a win, so I rounded.

The Huddle projects Garoppolo to pass for 4,100 yards

The Huddle projects quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to surpass last season's mark of 3,978 yards and throw for 4,100 yards in 2020. Here is what the Fantasy Football site said about the projection (h/t to Kyle Madson of Niners Wire).

"After six years in the NFL, Garoppolo finally lasted for 16 games as a starter and ended with 3,978 yards and 27 TDs. He topped 300-yards just three times but threw for 2+ TDs in about half of his games. SF ranked only #29 with 476 pass attempts and yet ranked #2 with 428 rushing attempts. That limits what Garoppolo can do fantasy-wise and almost no yardage or scores as a runner further keeps him in fantasy back-up territory."

Garoppolo's 3,978 passing yards in 2019 already ranks fourth in franchise history. Reaching 4,100 yards would move the quarterback into third place behind Steve Young's 4,170 yards in 1998 and Jeff Garcia's 4,278 yards in 2000.

Meanwhile, Pro Football Focus projects Garoppolo to throw for fewer yards in 2020. The analytics site predicts the 49ers quarterback will rack up 3,734 yards through the air.

So, if you're a Niners fan, you may want to go with The Huddle's numbers.

Why one analyst is worried for Brock Purdy if 49ers trade Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 18

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy achieved a remarkable feat in 2023, setting a single-season franchise record with 4,280 passing yards. This accomplishment is noteworthy, considering the illustrious quarterbacks who have graced the organization's history. A significant portion of those yards came from wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who amassed a career-high and team-leading 1,342 receiving yards. Most of his 75 catches originated from passes thrown by Purdy. Amidst significant offseason chatter surrounding the 49ers' star receiver, including several unsubstantiated trade rumors, Aiyuk's future remains uncertain. Former NFL player James Jones, now an analyst, expressed concern for Purdy should Aiyuk's tenure in the Bay Area come to an end. "I

49ers add pass rusher in new 7-round mock draft

By David Bonilla
Apr 15

Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team revealed his latest mock draft, which goes seven rounds deep and projects every selection for every NFL team. While most predict that the San Francisco 49ers will add an offensive lineman with their first selection, No. 31 overall, Mosher has the Bay Area team going in a different direction. The writer and analyst has the Niners selecting former UCLA pass rusher Laiatu Latu in the first round. "It wouldn't be a shock to see Laiatu Latu fall in the draft due to his medical history, but he is too good of a value to pass up here at No. 31," Mosher wrote. "The San Francisco 49ers have been searching for the right pass

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
