49ers troll Seahawks on Twitter with fantastic response

Jun 16, 2020 at 6:18 PM--

I thought the Niner Faithful would get a kick out of this one. For whatever reason, the Seattle Seahawks' official Twitter account asked fans to vote for their team or the San Francisco 49ers by either commenting (a vote for the 49ers) or retweeting (a vote for the Seahawks).

That probably sounds like an odd request because it's hard to imagine their fans voting for any option other than the Seahawks, much less a division rival — but whatever. So a lopsided result should be expected.

One of the best drop-the-mic responses, however, came from the 49ers' official Twitter account. It simply posted this short clip and reminder from the two teams' Week 17 matchup at CenturyLink Field this past season.

Well played, 49ers.

H/t to Zain Naqvi for the find.

Despite spending some time as division foes before the NFL realigned the NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints aren't exactly rivals. A few more games like the Week 14 nail-biter last season could change that. Whoever is running the 49ers' social media account might want to ignite something, judging by an impressively clever tweet on Thursday. The post was meant to remind fans to wear masks during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which threatens the 2020 NFL season and sports in general. And that individual did so while taking a shot at the Saints. Be a saint. Grab a face mask.

Rumor: 49ers, Seahawks had 'preliminary discussions' with Jets about Jamal Adams

By David Bonilla

For now, file this one under "rumors" because this report hasn't yet been validated by any other media outlet. That could change, though. A Seattle Seahawks reporter for Sports Illustrated named Corbin Smith states that, per multiple sources, the Seahawks have inquired about New York Jets safety Jamal Adams. He also mentioned the San Francisco 49ers as a team that has "had preliminary discussions" with the Jets about the disgruntled defender who seeks to become the highest-paid safety in football. It isn't uncommon for NFL teams to inquire about players who may be

Was this the worst call against the 49ers in team history?

By David Bonilla
Jul 1, 2020

Mike Phillips of FanSided endeavored to name the worst call against each NFL team in their history. So naturally, I skipped past 31 NFL teams and headed straight to the call that went against the San Francisco 49ers. The FanSided contributor chose the holding call against Ronnie Lott in the NFC Championship Game during the 1983 season. San Francisco had won just one Super Bowl at that point and was fighting for its second Vice Lombardi Trophy. Washington had jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the third quarter and looked well on its way to easily eliminating the 49ers. The 49ers started mounting a fourth-quarter comeback, though. Joe Montana hit Mike Wilson for a score.
