A report surfaced this morning that the San Francisco 49ers are open to trading down from either or both of their first-round picks this week. The team owns its original pick, No. 31 overall, but also acquired the No. 13 overall pick from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.

That doesn't mean that is plan A, though. The 49ers are also looking to add a "foundational player" at No. 13, and will weigh all of their options.

Said Lynch via Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated: "There are scenarios at both of those picks where we'd be open to moving back...a couple more (picks) might be nice...But if you can find a foundational player at 13, that's something you have to weigh."

Could one of those foundational players be an offensive tackle at No. 13? Lynch didn't dismiss the possibility.

"We certainly could," Lynch responded when asked about potentially drafting a tackle.

Lynch stated that he is open to letting others around the NFL know that the 49ers are willing to move down from their first-round selections. The general manager notes that the team's lack of picks between rounds one and five probably make that clear.

Lynch added that the 49ers have not yet received any "actionable" offers for the No. 13 overall pick, but some discussions have taken place and could set things up for when the draft actually kicks off on Thursday night.
