Kyle Shanahan's offense was a big reason why fullback Kyle Juszczyk signed with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. Of course, he also had about 21 million other reasons, spread out over four years, to join Shanahan in the Bay Area.

Juszczyk is entering his third season with the team and feels as though his familiarity with the offense has grown significantly. Everyone's has. That includes quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who spent the majority of last season sidelined after an ACL injury.

"I think there's no doubt, [the offense] has got to be clearer," Juszczyk told Grant Cohn of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. "All of us, even myself included, in my third year, things are clearer. You keep hearing the same things over and over. I can't tell you how many times we've done Day 1 installs.

"Stuff that we're running out there really has become second nature."

Garoppolo won't be limited in training camp. He will participate in everything after being held out of 11-on-11 drills for all but one snap during the offseason program. Shanahan and the coaches, of course, will be cautious with their quarterback. The upcoming season, after all, depends on keeping him healthy.

Garoppolo's teammates are excited to get their leader back.

"I thought he looked great (today)," Juszczyk said of Garoppolo. "I think Jimmy's done a great job this whole offseason, even in OTAs when he was getting limited reps. I think he's done a really good job."
