The San Francisco 49ers signed cornerback Jason Verrett to a one-year deal on Thursday. He's been through three injury-riddled seasons over the past three years and hopes to prove himself during his opportunity with San Francisco.

"I know I'm definitely a top corner in this league when I'm healthy," Verrett told reporters on Thursday. "I've just got to prove it. The 49ers are giving me an opportunity to do that, and that's my plan."

The details of his contract, for those who love such information, have emerged courtesy of Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
