Experience won during Super Bowl 53 between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams.

Bill Belichick, 66, became the oldest head coach to win a Super Bowl. Tom Brady, 41, became the oldest quarterback to do so and is the first player in NFL history to win a sixth championship. Both made their ninth appearances in the big game.

The Patriots defeated the Rams, led by second-year head coach Sean McVay and third-year quarterback Jared Goff, 13-3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday.

The Rams, who were ranked No. 2 during the regular season in both total offense and scoring, managed just three points and 260 total yards of offense compared to the Patriots' 407.

Brady completed 21-of-35 for 262 yards with no touchdowns and an interception for New England. Patriots running back Sony Michel scored the lone touchdown in the game on a two-yard run.

Goff completed 19-of-38 for 229 yards with an interception for Los Angeles.

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was named the Most Valuable Player.

The Rams, who play in the same division as the San Francisco 49ers, spent heavily last offseason to make this playoff run, spending on free agents and giving up draft picks in trades.

49ers' Fred Warner addresses Armstead's departure, Greenlaw's recovery, Super Bowl window

By David Bonilla
Apr 22

The news of Arik Armstead's departure from the San Francisco 49ers after nine seasons with the team shocked linebacker Fred Warner. Armstead, a former first-round pick, was an impactful force on the football field. However, his availability over the last two seasons forced the 49ers to reevaluate his contract, and when his salary could not be significantly reduced, the two sides parted ways. "Huge surprise," Warner said of learning that Armstead was being released. "Ever since I've been here, we called him the blueprint for how to be a Niner. That was the longest-tenured Niner that's been here and a guy that's done it right through and through." Warner has been in the NFL long enough to understand how the league works. Over the years, he's watched several

ESPN recently conducted a mock draft involving its NFL Nation reporters, where each assumed the general manager role for the team they cover. This unique process benefits from selectors who are intimately aware of each team's needs. The San Francisco 49ers are expected to address their offensive line with the No. 31 overall pick, marking the team's first first-round selection since 2021. Nick Wagoner, acting as general manager John Lynch, had to adapt his plan based on earlier selections taking several offensive tackles off draft boards. With those options gone, Wagoner opted for former Missouri pass rusher Darius
