The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Running back Matt Breida's 274 rushing yards this season ties him with Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot for the most in the league. Breida briefly left Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a hyperextended knee and calf soreness but was able to return. He was limited during practice on Wednesday and head coach Kyle Shanahan predicted earlier this week that the NFL rushing co-leader would likely be questionable for this weekend's game.

Other injury notes from Wednesday:

  • Breida was walking around the locker room before practice without any noticeable limp.
  • Cornerback Richard Sherman is still in a walking boot. He missed the entire second half of the game against the Chiefs after suffering a calf injury and is expected to be out at least a couple of weeks.
  • Safety Adrian Colbert suffered a hip injury against the Chiefs and did not practice.
  • Safety Jaquiski Tartt, who did not play against the Chiefs due to a shoulder injury, did not practice but went through individual work on a side field.
  • Guard Mike Person suffered a slight knee sprain against the Chiefs and did not practice. Shanahan predicted he would be questionable for Sunday.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Chargers, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
