Before the San Francisco 49ers' 30-27 victory over the Detroit Lions, the biggest news from Sunday was general manager John Lynch stating the team "made a call" and is "doing its due diligence" on the Cleveland Browns receiver.
While Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that five NFL teams are looking into the possibility of trading for Gordon, a source told the NFL insider that the receiver is eyeing the 49ers or the Dallas Cowboys.
The Browns informed Gordon on Saturday that they plan to release him on Monday, which will allow him to sign with any team he desires. Of course, that doesn't mean they aren't willing to entertain trade offers before then.
Betting oddsmakers were busy trying to predict Gordon's most likely destinations should he become a free agent on Monday. In the lead are the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys. The 49er' chances of landing Gordon came in third.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if the 49ers are interested in adding Gordon or moving forward with the receivers they currently have. Of course, the 49ers head coach was careful with his words since the Gordon is technically still a member of the Browns.
"I'm content with our whole team," Shanahan said after Sunday's game. "I love our whole team and the guys that we have. I always feel, since camp ended and we got our 53, we can win with the people we have.

"But, anytime a player is available, which I don't know if he is or not. I don't know what's happened today. If he isn't, I'm not allowed to comment. But, my same answer for always, we will look into every situation to always try to upgrade our team no matter what the case is.
"But to answer your question, am I happy with what we have? Of course I am."
Gordon returned to the Browns last December after serving a three-year suspension for multiple violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy. He played in last weekend's 21-21 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers and recorded one catch, which came in the form of a 17-yard touchdown.
