The 49ers signed Cooper in March to a one-year deal worth $4.95 million with a $2 million signing bonus and $4 million in total guarantees. He was expected to compete for a starting job at right guard but fell behind Mike Person and Joshua Garnett on the depth chart.
Copper was slow to return from offseason knee surgery in January. He sustained the injury in Dallas' final game of the season last year.
The Arizona Cardinals made Cooper (6-2, 308) the seventh-overall draft pick out of North Carolina in 2013. He started 13 games at left guard for the Dallas Cowboys in 2017.
