Twice during the 2017 season, San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Now, he can add NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December to his resume.

Gould has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month three times before during his 13-year career, but this is his first time receiving the honor while with the 49ers. Gould is tied for the most times receiving the honor among active kickers.
During December, Gould connected on all 18 of his field goal attempts and hit 12 of his 13 extra points. He hit game-winning field goals against his former team, the Chicago Bears, and the Tennessee Titans. The 49ers did not lose a game during December.
Gould finished the season with a career-high 39 made field goals, which led the NFL. He joins kicker David Akers (44 in 2011) as the only players in franchise history to lead the NFL in made field goals and is tied for third-most in a single season in NFL history (Akers - 44 in 2011, Neil Rackers - 40 in 2005, Olindo Mare - 39 in 1999, Jeff Wilkins - 39 in 2003).
Gould was signed by the 49ers to a two-year contract on March 9, 2017.
