Frank Gore talking with Jed York about helping 49ers front office
Frank Gore still has a lot of love for the San Francisco 49ers. He's declared a never-ending desire to root for the organization that made him a third-round draft pick in 2005. Earlier this month, he signed a one-day contract with the team, officially retiring as a member of the red and gold.

The San Francisco 49ers concluded their mandatory minicamp earlier this week, electing to cancel their final practice on Thursday, effectively finishing this phase of their offseason program as head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that the team won't hold practices until training camp begins in late July.

Last year, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan fired up the crowd at the Sonoma Raceway, serving as the Grand Marshal of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race. This year, another Niner took part in the event. Linebacker Fred Warner was on hand to pilot the official Toyota Camry pace car at the 10-turn race, leading 40 vehicles to the green flag.
"I can't wait to do this," Warner said in anticipation of the opportunity, per a statement issued by the Sonoma Raceway. "I've always enjoyed NASCAR, and to get the opportunity to lead the field around an awesome raceway like Sonoma is going to be one of the highlights of my life."

The San Francisco 49ers concluded their offseason program by ending their mandatory minicamp a day early last week. Wednesday was the final practice. The team held a family day on Thursday, hosting players, coaches, and staff for food and fun.
The 49ers moved up the minicamp by a week. They could have held the remainder of organized team activities (OTAs) this week but opted to cancel the remaining practices, allowing players an extended break before reconvening in late July for training camp. The rookies were already expected to remain in Santa Clara this week for some extra work.
