On Thursday morning, Matt Lombardo of FanSided caused a good deal of chatter with a single tweet. It stated that, per his sources, the San Francisco 49ers have been "continually underwhelmed" by the development of now-second-year quarterback Trey Lance. Bleacher Report identifies 49ers' biggest remaining need

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers did what they could to address offseason needs. They signed Charvarius Ward and drafted two cornerbacks to bolster that position. In addition, they hope to have found a replacement for Dee Ford in second-round draft pick Drake Jackson. There remains uncertainty about who will be playing alongside Jimmie Ward at safety, but the team has options. While the 49ers drafted two offensive linemen—Spencer Burford and Nick Zakelj—the interior of that line is among the team's most prominent question marks heading into the 2022 season. It will be tough to replace Laken Tomlinson, who is now with the New York Jets. Also, Tom Compton left for the Denver Broncos after just two seasons with the 49ers. No one knows what is happening with

John Lynch explains the 49ers re-signing Jason Verrett

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed oft-injured cornerback Jason Verrett to a one-year deal on Monday. For the team, it was worth the risk. Verrett has been in the NFL for eight seasons and has landed on injured reserve during six of those. Verrett's two healthy seasons, though, were impressive. In 2015, he recorded 47 tackles, three interceptions, a touchdown, and 12 passes defensed, earning a career-high Pro Football Focus grade of 88.4 and Pro Bowl selection. Verrett signed with the 49ers in 2019 and again struggled with injuries in that first season with the team. But a

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch stated that the rookie minicamp would kick off on May 12. However, that appears to be when first-year players can report to the team. The NFL announced today that the 49ers' rookie minicamp would take place May 13-15, two weeks after the draft. It will be the first opportunity for 49ers coaches to see its latest draft class, which includes nine players, on the practice field. In addition, several undrafted free agents will join them, along with some players looking to try out for the team. The 49ers drafted the following players in the 2022 NFL Draft. Round 2: Drake Jackson, DE, USC Round 3: Ty Davis-Price, RB, LSU Round 3: Danny Gray, WR. SMU Round 4: Spencer Burford,
