49ers interested in Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk

Mar 8, 2017 at 9:31 AM--

According to Tom Pelissero‏ of USA TODAY Sports, the San Francisco 49ers are among the teams showing interest in Baltimore Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk.

The 49ers didn't have a fullback on the roster last season. Bruce Miller was the team's fullback the previous season and was trying to convert to a tight end in Chip Kelly's offense, but legal problems led the 49ers to release Miller a week prior to the start of the regular season.

Juszczyk, who turns 26 in April, was a fourth-round selection out of Harvard by Baltimore in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl last season and was a 2016 First-Team All-Pro.

Kyle Juszczyk confident Jimmy Garoppolo can excel again, once healthy

By David Bonilla

To say that Jimmy Garoppolo struggled during his half of play against the Miami Dolphins would be an understatement. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback recorded the lowest single-game pass rating (15.7) of his career while going 7-of-17 for 77 yards and two interceptions. In Garoppolo's defense, he had missed two games after suffering a high-ankle sprain during Week 2, and the injury was clearly impacting his ability to throw the football and move around. Garoppolo probably shouldn't have been playing in the first place, a debate that emerged after the Dolphins routed the 49ers 43-17. While the media has resumed speculating how to replace the 49ers quarterback, Garoppolo's teammates still have confidence in his ability to lead the team from the NFC West

Patriots' Bill Belichick explains why Kyle Juszczyk makes the 49ers so difficult to defend

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers arguably have the best tight end in football in George Kittle. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick raved about him this week while speaking with 49ers reporters. San Francisco may also have the best fullback in the league. Belichick believes that to be the case. The Patriots coach was asked about Kyle Juszczyk on Friday and praised the fullback while explaining how his presence within the 49ers offense makes things more challenging to defend. "Kyle's had a very good career, and he's a versatile player," Belichick told Patriots reporters. "When he was with the Ravens, they used him in a lot of different ways, and then San Francisco signed on to a big contract for a fullback – certainly the highest-paid player at his

Kyle Shanahan: Is the young, "cool," and "fearless" coach's old-school mentality holding the 49ers back?

By Chris Wilson
Oct 25, 2020

The San Francisco 49ers describe their head coach as a "detailed wizard," and an "aggressive guru," but Kyle Shanahan's actions -- and words -- tell a different story of a man struggling to find a path to greatness. Prior to the San Francisco 49ers' NBC Sunday Night Football matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya asked each player from both teams for three words which best describe their respective head coach. The point of the exercise was to highlight the similarities between the two young coaches, which was a common theme throughout the broadcast. Four of the words provided were identical, and the remainder were relatively similar. However, Shanahan's descriptors formed the image of a "smart" and "relentless"
