The restructured contract for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been filed to the league, which revealed a few details about the deal.

Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY pointed out the following about Kaepernick's new contract via Twitter.



On Tuesday, Kaepernick was announced as the team's new starting quarterback. On Wednesday, he officially signed the restructured deal that eliminates the future guarantees in salary should the quarterback suffer a serious injury.

For Kaepernick, it allows him to void 2017 and become a free agent in March.
