Bowman went down on the field grabbing his left ankle and received attention from the 49ers' medical staff. He walked off of the field with a limp and some help from team trainers. Bowman was replaced in the game by Nick Bellore.
Bowman was taken via cart to the 49ers locker room. The team announced that he would remain out with a "lower leg injury."
Update:
Following the game, Bowman was seen in a walking boot.
