The signing of first round selection DeForest Buckner was first reported earlier today by Rand Getlin of NFL Network.

The 49ers released four players. They are QB Dylan Thompson, G Jordan Devey, K Corey Acosta, and RB Kendall Gaskins, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Thompson was part of a crowded quarterback group that includes Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert, who will likely battle for the starting job. The team also signed free agent Thad Lewis and drafted Jeff Driskel out of Louisiana Tech in the sixth round of the draft.
The 49ers have also signed the following 12 undrafted free agents.
