The team has also signed fellow sixth-round selection, QB Jeff Driskel, to a deal reportedly worth up to $2.629 million and including a $112,540 signing bonus, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
Taylor is the son of former Jacksonville Jaguars RB Fred Taylor. "I feel like I'm an every down back, and I want to get out there in camp and start making plays," Taylor said following his draft selection. He was a teammate with the 49ers' selection prior to him, QB Jeff Driskel. Driskel and Taylor played together at Florida before Driskel left for Louisiana Tech. He was also a teammate of current 49ers OT Trent Brown.
Driskel spent time with Florida from 2011 through 2014. He played for Louisiana Tech in 2015 where he completed 62.3-percent of his passes for 4,026 yards, 27 touchdowns, eight interceptions and a rating of 154.1 in 13 games.
