Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported that he was told by Kelly that he would not go far for any pro days and that he trusts the 49ers' front office. Goff's pro day was local, so Kelly was able to attend that event. While Kelly had full control of his roster during his final year with the Philadelphia Eagles, general manager Trent Baalke has full control over the 49ers' roster.
NFL Network reported that Hue Jackson of the Cleveland Browns was believed to be the only head coach in Fargo today. Earlier today, the Browns agreed to a contract with Robert Griffin III, which may not necessarily stop Cleveland from taking a franchise quarterback with the second overall selection in next month's draft.
Wentz completed 63 of his 65 passes before being given the same water bottle test by Browns quarterback coach Pep Hamilton that was on display for Goff's pro day. His first pass with the wet ball was ... not pretty.
"I wasn't surprised. I wasn't sure if he was going to do it with me or not," Wentz said on the NFL Network following the workout. "Obviously the first one went into the dirt, but I got a feel for it after that and I thought it was alright."
Other than that, it was reported by multiple sources that Wentz threw the ball exceptionally well at his pro day. How did his numbers compare to Goff? The former Cal quarterback was 61 of 69 with two drops during his pro day and his tosses of drenched footballs was far more successful than Wentz's.
