The 49ers are coming off of a 19-13 defeat against the Arizona Cardinals. The Bears are coming off of a 17-13 victory against the Green Bay Packers.
The 49ers will have C Daniel Kilgore back. He was activated to the 53-man roster on Saturday. Kilgore, the former starter at center, last played in October of 2014, when he broke his ankle in a game against the Denver Broncos. C Marcus Martin, who was ranked last among NFL centers according to Pro Football Focus, has started in place of Kilgore for the 49ers this season.
Defensively, NT Mike Purcell brought down Cardinals QB Carson Palmer for his first career sack during his first career start. On special teams, K Phil Dawson connected on both of his field goal attempts on the day (50 & 33 yards). He has made 18 consecutive field goal attempts, which is tied for the second longest streak in franchise history. The 49ers have held their last three opponents to fewer than 20 points and limited the explosive Cardinals offense to 337 total yards.
The Bears have lost 11 of their last 14 at home and are 1-4 this season at Soldier Field. However, their last two losses have been close ones (five combined points) and they are depending a 49ers team that has performed much worse on the road than at home to get their second home win of the season. San Francisco has been outscored 176-71 while going 0-5 on the road this season.

The Bears defense has improved over the course of the season. They have given up only 15.5 points per game to their past four opponents. While Fangio's Chicago defense ranks second against the pass, the 49ers may be able to run on the Bears. They rank 29th against the run allowing 128.5 per game. The 49ers will have to do it without RB Carlos Hyde, who will miss his fifth straight game with a stress fracture in his foot. RB Shaun Draughn, who spent time with Chicago in 2014, will continue to carry the load in his place.
