Clements will start at left cornerback. Shawntae Spencer and Walt Harris will compete for the other starting job.
Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat has reported that safety Michael Lewis has also signed with the team. He also reports that the 49ers are closing in on Ravens free-agent nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin. Coach Mike Nolan confirmed that Franklin will be arriving tonight. This morning, Thomas Sorrell, a writer for RealFootball365, was the first to report that a deal was ready for Clements. Clements and Lewis spent the entire day at the 49ers facility in Santa Clara.
