At times, the 49ers offense was able to move the football. However, their lone score of the first half was on a 33 yard field goal following a 12 play, 57 yard drive.
The second half started just like the first. On the Packers' first possession, they marched down the field on a 9 play, 61 yard drive that ended with one yard touchdown run by FB John Kuhn. That gave the Packers a 14-3 lead.
Green Bay would go on to win 17-3.
It wasn't the blowout that many were predicting with the 49ers defense doing very well against Rodgers and the always dangerous Packers offense, but a struggling 49ers offense once again killed the team's hopes of an upset victory.
For the second straight week, 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick struggled. He was often off target in his passes and his runs were erratic. The 49ers' offensive line struggled against the Packers' pass rush, with Kaepernick getting sacked six times, including a sack on 4th and 5 near the end zone toward the end of the fourth quarter.
Kaepernick would finish the game 13 of 25 for 160 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. He also led the team in rushing with 57 yards on 10 carries. RB Carlos Hyde had only 20 yards on 8 carries.
Rodgers would finish the game 22 of 32 for 224 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions.
The Packers improve to 4-0 while the 49ers fall to 1-3 on the season.
