Crabtree was the 49ers' most prominent remaining free agent. While the team was open to his return, Crabtree seemed less interested in returning to the 49ers.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the deal to go to Oakland is for one-year and worth $3 million with up to $2 million more in incentives.
It was reported that Crabtree had received an offer from the Miami Dolphins worth almost $3 million, but that he had turned it down in search for more money. He felt that Miami was off by about $1.5 million.
Crabtree was drafted by the 49ers with the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee had reported that if Crabtree signed a deal with another team before May 12, the 49ers would likely pick up another compensatory pick in the 2016 draft.
