Dockett visited with the San Francisco 49ers this week. FOX Sports' Mike Jurecki stated today that 49ers players are reaching out to Dockett and are lobbying to bring him to the Bay Area.
Dockett passed his physical and Jurecki states that, per a source, the 49ers are going to make him an offer.
He has amassed 459 tackles, 40.5 sacks, four interceptions and seven forced fumbles during his career.
Docket was entering the final year of his contract with the Cardinals and was due to make $6.55 million. The Cardinals would like to have him return, but at a lower cost.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dockett has a career +50.2 pass rush grade. However, his -122.9 run defense grade is the lowest of any interior defensive lineman over the PFF era.
