Dennis Georgatos, writing for the Sporting News, reports San Francisco 49ers C Jeremy Newberry (knee) has been informed by head coach Mike Nolan that he will enter training camp as the No. 2 center because he can not practice on a full-time basis. OG Eric Heitmann will have the starting job. Newberry will get the opportunity to compete for the No. 1 role.
