Scheduled Visits
Free agent defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey (Chiefs) is scheduled to visit with the 49ers.
Also scheduled for a visit is free agent safety Charles Woodson (Packers). Woodson will arrive on Wednesday.
Trades
The 49ers acquired wide receiver Anquan Boldin from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. The trade is pending a physical, which Boldin is currently unable to take part in because he is in West Africa on a relief trip with Larry Fitzgerald and Roddy White.
As expected, the 49ers completed the trade of Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chief. In return for Smith, the 49ers will receive a second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and a conditional pick in 2014.
49ers Lost
Tight end Delanie Walker has signed with the Tennessee Titans.
Defensive lineman Isaac Sopoaga has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. He will get a 3 year, $12 million deal with approximately $5 million guaranteed.
On The Way Out
Dashon Goldson is expected to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are reportedly ready to offer him a contract that will average $8 million a year, which is overpriced for the 49ers.
Ricky Jean Francois is expected to join Sopoaga and sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Shown Interest
The 49ers are said to be interested in free agent cornerback Sean Smith (Dolphins).
The 49ers have shown interest in free agent kicker Lawrence Tynes (Giants) to replace David Akers, who the team released last week.
Other than Woodson, the 49ers are rumored to be interested in another pair of safeties. The first is Ed Reed (Ravens) and the second is LaRon Landry (Jets). Although, it was reported that the interest in Reed may have simply been a smokescreen.
The 49ers showed interest in free agent return man Josh Cribbs (Browns). However, he has said that his choices have been narrowed to the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals.
The 49ers are rumored to be interested in linebackers Lorenzo Alexander (Redskins) and John Abraham (Falcons). Alexander will make his decision on Wednesday and is rumored to be interested in the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals or Pittsburgh Steelers.
