Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the San Francisco 49ers are in the running to sign Vikings free agent linebacker Raonall Smith. The Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals are also interested in Smith.

Smith has spent the past 4 years in Minnesota. He has played in 30 games and made 64 tackles and 1 sack.

Hicks re-signed

The 49ers have re-signed exclusive-rights free agent running back Maurice Hicks to his one-year, $425,000 tender offer.

Contract Updates

49ers kicker Joe Nedney signed a four-year contract earlier this month with base salaries of $775,000 (2006), $1.0075 million (2007), $1.24 million (2008) and $1.4725 million (2009).

49ers cornerback Kris Richard's contract was a one-year deal with a base salary of $500,000 in 2006.

49ers wide receiver Jason McAddley's contract was a one-year deal with a base salary of $585,000 in 2006.

49ers wide receiver Bryan Gilmore's contract was a one-year deal with a base salary of $585,000 in 2006.

49ers wide receiver Antonio Bryant's contract was a four-year deal with base salaries of $1.25 million (2006), $1.25 million (2007), $2.75 million (2008), and $3.0 million (2009).

49ers guard Larry Allen's contract was a two-year deal with base salaries of $1.0 million (2006) and $2.6 million (2007).
