The loss was the 49ers' eighth of the season. The 49ers have not had a winning season since 2002 and this year will be no different.
The 49ers' running backs combined for only 64 yards and quarterback Troy Smith was 10 of 25 for 194 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
On the other side of the ball, Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback passed on in 2005 for Alex Smith, was 21 of 30 for 298 yards and three touchdowns.
Next Sunday, the 49ers will host the Seattle Seahawks at Candlestick Park.
