The San Francisco 49ers selected running back Kaelon Black in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The rookie has now scored his first NFL touchdown.

Black found the end zone in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, extending San Francisco's lead to 14-3.

Black entered the Week 7 matchup as the primary backup to starting running back Christian McCaffrey. He had recorded 170 rushing yards on 45 carries this season.

McCaffrey handled the majority of the backfield work early in Sunday's game but was sidelined with a thigh injury. He was listed as questionable to return.
