During an appearance on Bay Area radio station KNBR on Monday morning, Purdy praised Jones for bringing energy, humor, and a positive atmosphere to the group.
"It's been so fun," Purdy said. "He's just lightened up the room. What was last year? Year four for me. So, having him in the room ... I didn't know that quarterbacks could be this funny and stuff within the quarterback room. Usually, it's always been we're the guys that hold the standard and do all the right things and stuff.
"But having him in the room, and just seeing how much he loves the game, I've learned a lot from him in that area. And him out on the practice field every day, yes, he's going about his job, but also has fun with it. And guys love being around him and stuff.
"He is a guy that I would love to see him be mic'd up every day, too. Hearing him and his answers in the quarterback room, dude, it never gets old."
KNBR hosts Brian Murphy and Markus Boucher admitted they've become fascinated by Jones' distinctive laugh, describing it as a memorable "cackle." Purdy immediately knew what they were talking about and couldn't help but smile at the description.
"Yeah, he's like a little kid laughing, and it makes you laugh," Purdy shared. "And it's like, dude, just being around this guy, he's a good vibe, so we all love him."
The New England Patriots originally selected Jones with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Although his career has had its share of ups and downs, he has quickly become a respected teammate in San Francisco, and Purdy's comments highlight the positive impact the veteran quarterback continues to have behind the scenes.
